The One Statistic All “Pot Stock” Investors Should Know

4 | By Michael A. Robinson

Oakland, Calif. – Now that I’m on my way home from the Fourth Annual Cannabis Business Summit & Expo, there’s one statistic I just can’t stop thinking about.

And that’s a big deal.

You see, people throw around a ton of numbers at these conferences. But their true values can be incredibly opaque.

Whether the data you pick up on the Expo floor is from an entrepreneur, a lobbyist, a politician, an investment analyst, a researcher, a salesperson, or even a “brand representative,” you’ve got to do some work with it.

You’ve got to put it under the microscope, turn it around in your head, and figure out what it truly means. While most of the “tips” you get are just noise, many are interesting enough to share with friends.

But only a very, very few are truly valuable.

I’m talking about a number or statistic that flips a switch in your brain – and points your way toward future profits in your investment portfolio.

And the one number that stuck with me is this – 25%.

Here’s why…

This Is Where the Next Trends Get Their Start

One of the great things about conferences – like the Marijuana Business Conference & Expo my team just attended – are the under-the-radar trends you pick up on.

The mainstream media is hardly talking about them. And the more specialized, niche coverage is busy with topics perceived as “bigger” – at least in the immediate term.

It’s the kind of valuable and credible information hanging out there on the fringes where millions are made.

And it’s why I’m personally attending the Cannabis Business Summit & Expo in Oakland, Calif., starting this upcoming Monday.

For example, at last month’s Marijuana Business Conference, a panel discussion on emerging legal marijuana markets may have flown under the radar with some inexperienced investors… but it jumped off the page to my team.

Panelist Michael Bronstein, of the law firm Bronstein & Weaver, proclaimed that New Jersey could become the most lucrative state recreational market east of the Rocky Mountains within two years. And he came equipped with plenty of data and anecdotes to back his claim up.

It makes sense.

First, New Jersey has a first-mover advantage, as none of its immediate neighbors will beat it to recreational legalization.

Plus, NJ borders two of five most populated cities in the country, New York and Philadelphia…it’s got a huge population all on its own… and it is home to communities hit hard by the decline of manufacturing looking for emerging industries like legal cannabis to bring in jobs and tax revenue.

In an effort to get tipped off on some similar profit-promising trends before I head to the Cannabis Business Summit, I spoke with a top executive of the group that sponsors that event.

And you want to hear what she told me…

Investors – and Bankers – Rush to Back Medical Cannabis

4 | By Michael A. Robinson

I’ve repeatedly argued that legal marijuana – which will be a $24 billion industry by 2025 – is an unstoppable freight train, and that there’s hardly a thing Sessions can do about it. I’ve said it here – and to thousands of additional people who tuned in to my Pot Stock Summit last month.

I’ve come one step short of shouting it from the rooftops.

That’s no idle talk, either. As of right now, we’ve got 100% confirmation that Sessions has been totally beaten in his quest to roll back the pot prohibition clock to 1968.

Here’s how we got it: We went right into the “belly of the beast.”

When one of the largest marijuana business conferences in the country came to the Washington, D.C., area last month, my team jumped at the chance to head down I-95 to get the inside dirt.

We found that people in-the-know – politicians, former high-level government staffers, deep-pocketed investors, and even bankers – know that Sessions has already lost.

More importantly, my team talked directly with a fleet of A-list insiders who confirmed it. None was more calming than guy who literally wrote the book on federal marijuana guidance.

This Is the Only Legal Marijuana IPO I’m Following

0 | By Michael A. Robinson

After a painfully quiet 2016, initial public offerings both current and future have rebounded with gusto through the first four months of 2017.

So far, 45 IPOs have priced this year – nearly three times as many as at this point last year, according to Renaissance Capital, which tracks initial offerings.

The rebound started with Snap Inc. (NYSE: SNAP)’s $3.4 billion IPO in March – and has been followed up by offerings from the likes of Cloudera Inc. (NYSE: CLDR), Okta Inc. (Nasdaq: OKTA), and Mulesoft Inc. (NYSE: MULE).

Those Who Move First… Profit First

0 | By Michael A. Robinson

We talk often here about “first mover” advantage.

It’s been shown time and time again that the first entities to establish a strong base of business in a young and fast-growing market can reap major benefits. Being first in on an opportunity in a growth industry usually means huge profits… and leaves your competitors perennially trying to play catch-up.

Here’s an example

As “Edibles” Market Takes Off, This Is My Favorite Way to Hop Onboard

4 | By Michael A. Robinson

The days when marijuana “edibles” were limited to a bunch of teens passing around a pan of homemade pot-laced brownies are long over.

The legal marijuana industry now grosses more than $5.4 billion a year through the sale of cannabis-infused food and drinks – for people who want to avoid the harmful effects of smoking, but still want the drug’s potent effects. And as marijuana continues its march to legalization, that number will keep climbing.

That means “edibles” re one of the most lucrative legal marijuana opportunities on the market. As I told you just yesterday, according to the “inside info” I picked up from New Frontier Data, use of edibles and concentrates (that is, vaping) each nearly tripled in the last year, eating into the smokable form’s market dominance. They now compose 33% of the total market – and that number is climbing.

Now I want to show you one of my favorite speculative plays in this booming pot-stock niche. I recommended it last September in my Nova X-Report “weed investors’ bible” – The Roadmap to Marijuana Millionsand some of the peak gains we’ve seen there have been extraordinary.

In fact, I can’t think of a better way to show everyone the massive profit potential in legal weed investing.

The Real Headline Behind White House’s Latest Marijuana Comments

0 | By Michael A. Robinson

When it comes to legal marijuana and cannabis biotech – which we’ve been discussing for several months now – there’s an elephant in the room.

There’s been a few recent comments from the Trump administration – though not the president himself – that paint recreational cannabis in a negative light.

During a Feb. 23 press conference, White House Communications Director Sean Spicer said he expects the Trump administration to seek “greater enforcement” of federal laws against marijuana.

Then, while speaking to reporters on Feb. 27 at the Justice Department, new Attorney General Jeff Sessions said, “I’m definitely not a fan of expanded use of marijuana.”

Not surprisingly, that’s inspired plenty of conjecture and worry from the media.

However, we’re not buying into that sensationalism and fear-mongering.

That’s because neither Spicer nor Sessions – nor anyone else in the White House – proposed any actual actions.

So instead of panicking, let’s take a breath…

I remain a big believer in this sector and its long-term growth. And I stand by my 2017 Legal Marijuana Forecast.

But the statements from Spicer and Sessions do raise some questions from “marijuana curious” investors.

Today I’m answering them

In Tech Investing, Look for Opportunities Still on the Frontier

A couple of weeks ago, I told you that some of my longtime readers made more money on Apple Inc. (Nasdaq: AAPL) because their shares fell sharply along the way.

If that sounds counterintuitive, then you’ll want to pay close attention to today’s report.

That’s because I’m going to show you how they did it using one of our best trading techniques.

I Just Updated My 2017 Legal Marijuana Forecast

9 | By Michael A. Robinson

Just two weeks ago, I released my 2017 Legal Marijuana Forecast.

Despite the many legal victories and the nice returns cannabis investing has already brought in the past year, it was a very bullish report.

However, I’ve been hearing from some of you.

You’re worried about the future of medicinal marijuana investing.

First off, pretty much everyone paying attention has read or heard about attorney general nominee Jeff Sessions’ stated views on marijuana. They’re not progressive – to say the least.

What’s more, many of you are now seeing legislative “pushback” in some state assemblies where voters voted “Yes” on legal marijuana use back on Nov. 8.

In today’s report, we’ll figure out what’s really happening here – and then we’ll update that 2017 Legal Marijuana Forecast with these new facts.
